# How to Draw a Geometric Lion

The lion is the king of the jungle, and with an impressive mane, fearsome roar, and stunning fur, it is easy to see why. Are you brave enough to bring your very own lion to life? Let’s take a look, draw a geometric lion together!

## Step-By-Step Images and Instructions

### 1.

Start by taking a black pen and a ruler, and drawing a small, slightly angled, square shape on the left of your page. Add a long, diagonal line to the right edge.

### 2.

Draw a long triangle to the left of this line.

### 3.

Now, add short lines to the top and bottom of this original diagonal line, pointing to the top right and bottom right corners of the page.

### 4.

Add another triangle to the right of the original square, and then another triangle to the top of this.

### 5.

Next, bring a line down from the right of the triangle shapes, to connect to the triangle on the left. Extend this down slightly, and then add a small “diamond” shape to the left of the line.

### 6.

Add another triangle to the right of that at the top…

### 7.

And then bring a line across from this, pointing to the bottom right-hand corner of the page. Take this across at a 45-degree angle, and then in further to connect to the central line of the shape.

### 8.

Now, divide this new shape into tall triangles, by drawing lines from each point.

### 9.

Bring a line down from the right, and then across.

### 10.

Connect this to the shape on the left with a straight line, and then add a large “L” shape to the bottom.

### 11.

Turn this “L” shape into another triangle, and then add a slanted square shape to the right.

### 12.

Join the central triangle to the main shape with another line, and then add a wide “V” shape to the bottom. Divide this into smaller triangles with a series of straight lines.

### 13.

Now, add two parallel “backward L” shapes to the bottom left, and join these at the end.

### 14.

Divide this into four smaller triangles…

### 15.

And then repeat this with a similar shape to the right.

### 16.

Now, bring a line down from the back, towards the bottom right corner of the page.

### 17.

Add a second line below this, and then divide the shapes into smaller triangles.

### 18.

Use a ruler to add a long, diagonal line just below this, and then add another “backward L” shape to the bottom. On the top of this, add a diagonal line, and then a shorter line to connect this back leg to the main body.

### 19.

Divide this back leg into smaller triangles…

### 20.

And then add a second back leg just in front of the first.

### 21.

Grab a brown pen and use this for the bottom of the tail, the fronts of each of the paws, and the area where the lion’s mane will be.

### 22.

Then, use a light orange pen to shade the rest of the body and complete your drawing.

And there we have it – a fearsome, geometric lion, just waiting to be given a name – do you have any ideas in mind?
