Step-By-Step Images and Instructions
1.

Start with a black pen, and draw a small circle to the right of the center.
2.

Add a second circle to the right of this, and then add a smaller, third circle at the bottom of this one.
3.

Next, add two smaller circles to the right of each of the inner sections.
4.

Add a curved line behind these circles. Bring curved lines up at either end and then add a series of points along the top, creating a crown shape.
5.

Connect the crown to the circles at the front – the eyes – with a curved line. Bring another curved line down at the back, and then take the line down and across to the right, ending just below the eyes.
6.

Draw a curved line at the top of this, add a “bump” to the right side, and then connect this to the bottom of the eyes.
7.

Now, add a tail to the back of the fish with angled lines reaching towards the top and bottom corners, followed by a series of block shapes in the center.
8.

Draw a “teardrop” shape in the center for a fin, and add a circle to the top of this.
9.

Now, draw a series of four-petalled flowers across the body of the fish.
10.

Follow this with a series of curved, vertical stripes along the back.
11.

Add a series of circles around the stripes…
12.

And then add circles, with smaller circles inside, emerging from the front of the fish. These should grow in size as they get closer to the top of the page.
13.

Add another shape inside the crown, and follow this with shapes inside the fin and the tail at the back.
14.

Now, use a brown pen to add color to the eyes, and the very back of the tail.
15.

Use a pink pen for the inner section of the tail, crown and fin, the top of the fin, and a few of the flowers.
16.

Switch to a light red pen for the rest of the crown, tail, and fin…
17.

And then use a gray pen for the bubbles at the front.
18.

Use the brown pen to fill in the stripes on the back, and the circles around these.
19.

Finally, shade the main body of your fish with a light brown pencil.
Now – even someone who deems themselves a “fish hater” could not deny the cuteness of this colorful baby fish, and his adorable, happy expression!
