Step-By-Step Images and Instructions
1.

We will draw first the mother swan, then the baby swan. So let’s start with the mother swan! Starting with a black pen, draw a small triangle shape to the left of the center of your page – add a small “dip” to the top of the triangle. This will be the beak.
2.

Bring two curved, parallel lines across from the tops of this shape, and follow these across and down in an “S” shape.
3.

Next, add a “V” shape behind the beak, and add a curved circle just inside the point of this.
4.

Add a curved line to the right side, taking this across and hooking down slightly at the end.
5.

Now, add a series of long, thin shapes to create the tail feathers.
6.

Add another three “loop” behind this…
7.

And then follow this with longer, thinner feathers at the very back. At the bottom, continue the line across to the left and up to meet the line at the front.
8.

Now, add a curved line to the bottom right…
9.

Start drawing the baby swan! And a small, curved “v” shape to the bottom left – the right stem of the “v” should be longer than the left.
10.

Join the tops of the “V” together with another pointed line.
11.

Then, bring a curved line across and down to form the outline of the baby swan’s head.
12.

Draw the baby swan’s eyes.
13.

And then add the body of the baby swan with a curved “c” shape.
14.

At the top of this, bring a jagged line across to form the back and tail of the baby swan.
15.

Now, add two large, curved “V” shapes just below both birds…
16.

And make sure that this is flicked out at either end.
17.

Grab a blue pen, and add color to the waves you just drew.
18.

Then, use an orange pen for the beak of the larger bird…
19.

And fill in the beak of the baby bird with a black pen.
20.

Use a gray pen to add shading to the head and chest of the baby bird, and the face of the larger swan.
21.

Use a very light orange pen to add color to the neck of the bigger swan.
22.

Grab the black pen, and finish drawing the feathers of the mother swan.
23.

Add the same light orange shade with your orange pen to the back and feathers of the swans to complete your drawing.
And there we have it – a super cute swan, living her very best life with her little one by her side. What could be cuter than that?
