Step-By-Step Images and Instructions
1.

Start by taking a black pen, and drawing a small “v” in the left half of your page.
2.

At the top of the “v”, draw a short line pointing at a 45-degree angle, and then join this to the other side with a straight line.
3.

Bring a curved line across and up from this point, and then add another curved line, this time extending from the other corner and curving up, across, and down towards the bottom left-hand corner of the page. Start to bend this out slightly at the end.
4.

Add another line beside the first, creating the beak, head, and neck of the swan…
5.

And then bring a line across from the right side, curving horizontally across the page.
6.

On the left line, being a curve down, and across to the right…
7.

And then connect these two sections with a slightly jagged line at the end for a tail.
8.

Now, add a curved line below the body of the swan, and a series of “zig-zag” lines below this.
9.

Use a black fineliner pen to add a small circle just above the beak, and add a small “crescent moon” shape inside this. Then, add a “lightning” shape to the right of this.
10.

Add a series of shapes all along the back of the swan, growing in size as you approach the tail.
11.

Now, use a red pen to add color to the beak.
12.

And then use a black pen for the body, leaving the shapes white.
Who says a black swan is a bad thing? You now have your very own beautiful black swan to enjoy and appreciate – but what adventures lie in wait?
