We all know that dogs are a man’s best friend, and the last thing that they will do is make you feel blue – no matter what color they happen to be!
To celebrate these wonderful pets, let’s draw our own blue dog!
Step-By-Step Images and Instructions
Start by taking a cyan pen, and drawing two angled lines in the center of your page, one just above the other.
At the end of the top line, add a curve down towards the bottom right-hand corner of your page, and then angle a short line across to the left.
Below this, add a curved “point”, and then continue the bottom line across, and curve it back up towards the center. Then, bring a line down from the end of the left line, and curve this across to the right, and back up to the center.
Use a red pen to create a small rectangle shape to connect both shapes in the center.
Fill this rectangle in with the red pen…
And then use a yellow pen to add a small oval shape to the right section. Add a smaller oval inside this first one.
Use the yellow to fill in the main outer ring of the oval…
And then use a blue pen to add a large oval to the right-hand side.
Draw a long “teardrop” shape inside the nose, and add a smaller circle below this.
Fill in this shape, leaving the smaller sections blank, to create a nose for your pooch.
Use the blue pen to add a series of small circles beneath the nose…
And then bring two lines up from above the eye, before bending then across to the left and joining in a curve to create an ear.
Fill in the ear and outline the eye with the blue pen…
And then add a second ear to the right of this, this time pointing straight up and slightly to the left. Add a series of large “splodges” across the body.
Now, add two short legs to the front of the body…
And another two to the back.
Bring a curved line up and across to a point for the tail…
And then use a cyan pen for the rest of the body.
Finally, use a black fineliner pen for the detail of the eye to complete your pup!
And just like that, you have turned a blue dog from a curiosity into a reality!
