Step-By-Step Images and Instructions
1.

Start by taking a black pen and a ruler, and drawing a long, thin horizontal rectangle at the bottom of your page.
2.

Use the ruler to draw a line at either end, angled inwards, and then join these at the bottom with another straight line.
3.

Add two small rectangles to the bottom, with one on each side…
4.

And then add a bumpy line to the top of this.
5.

Switch to a brown pen, and draw a wavy line heading towards the top left-hand corner of the page. Curve this around in a “C” shape, and then take it up to the right.
6.

Add another line list besides this first one…
7.

And then a third line, splitting this into three at the top.
8.

Now, bring another two lines off to the left, splitting this into two.
9.

Repeat this on the right, with three “forks”…
10.

And then add more lines to the section at the bottom, above the bumpy black line.
11.

Grab the black pen, and use this to add a series of bumpy “clouds” – one on the top of each section of twigs – to form the leaves of your bonsai.
12.

Grab a green pen for the leaves, and the section at the bottom of the roots.
13.

Use a lighter brown pen to shade the container and complete your drawing.
Now that you have drawn one, why not take the plunge and invest in your very own cute bonsai tree? They are a great addition to any home!
