Step-By-Step Images and Instructions
1.

Grab a black pen, and draw a wide, curved “m” shape on the left of your page, extending the line down slightly on the right.
2.

Now, bring a line across and up, adding spiked sections as you go, to create the hair of the boy.
3.

Fill in the hair with the black pen…
4.

And then use a brown pen to add a slightly square, angled “n” shape to the right. Add a thicker line to the right side, and then a “b” shape to the right of this.
5.

Now, add a curved line to the bottom of the “b”, and take this down and across to the right to form one side of the neck. Bring a line down on the other side to complete the neck, and then add a triangle below this, and a curved line above for the head of the girl.
6.

Use the brown pen to add a point to the left of the head, and fill this all in with the brown pen.
7.

Add an angled line to the top right, and bring this up towards the top right-hand corner, before bringing this down towards the bottom right-hand corner, and then down and down again towards the bottom of the page.
8.

Bring the line across and up to a point, then across, up, and across slightly to the left, leaving a slight gap between this and the bottom of the neck.
9.

Shade the outside of the section you have just drawn with the gray pen…
10.

And then use a light orange pen to shade both the faces.
11.

Use an orange pen to bring a line across at the bottom of the girl’s body, and then take this up and angle a small rectangle shape down for the arm. Connect this to the bottom of the face, and fill in this section with the orange pen.
12.

Use a navy blue pen to add a small “V” shape to the bottom of the boy’s neck, and then bring an angled line out on either side of this.
13.

Bring angled lines down from either end and add an arrow to the bottom of each line. Bring the line up on both sides to form the outline of the arms.
14.

Bring a curved line down on either side for the edges of the body…
15.

And then use the light orange shade to add an arm to the right of the boy, and the left of the girl.
16.

Add an arm to the left of the boy, angling this down and then up.
17.

Next, shade the shirt of the boy with the dark blue pen…
18.

And add a stripe to the bottom of this with a light brown pen.
19.

Grab a bright blue pen and a ruler, and add two short lines to the bottom of the body, one on either side. Take this to a diagonal on the left, and then across horizontally. On the right, take the line across to the right, angle it at a diagonal, and then bring it down towards the bottom of the page, slightly angled.
20.

Take the line across slightly at the bottom, and then up to meet the line above.
21.

Now, add another set of angled lines behind this for the second leg, and fill these in with the blue pen.
22.

Fill in the first leg using the same blue pen.
23.

Now, use a red pen to add a curve to the bottom of the girl’s body. Bring angled lines down from the end, and take the left line across to the left side. On the right side, angle the line to the bottom left-hand corner, and then take it across to the left.
24.

Fill in the bottom half of the girl’s body with the red pen…
25.

And then use the orange pen to add a leg to the end of this.
26.

Add another leg to the back, so that the legs “fork” out.
27.

Next, use a red pen to add small pointed shapes to the end of the girl’s leg for shoes.
28.

Add a brown line to the bottom of each shoe…
29.

And then use a brown pen to add shoes to the bottom of the boy’s legs.
30.

Now, use a dark brown pen and a ruler to draw a long, thin rectangle below the figures, so that they appear to be sitting on it.
31.

Use a brown pen to shade the long, thin rectangle…
32.

And then use a ruler to bring a line up at the back. Follow this with two wavy lines at the bottom.
33.

Use a ruler to add two horizontal lines around halfway up the figures…
34.

And connect these at the end, filling them in with the brown pen.
35.

Use a red pen and the ruler to add another, short horizontal line below this…
36.

And then add a bow to the top, and two curved lines to the bottom.
37.

Use a light brown pen and ruler to add two rectangles behind this…
38.

And fill these in with the brown pen, creating a present.
39.

Use a white marker pen to add a half circle to both faces…
40.

And then a brown pen for an arrow-shaped nose.
41.

Grab a black pen and add two small circles to each of the faces, leaving a small dot in the center. Then, add a curved brow above each eye.
42.

Use a red pen to add two pops of color to either cheek.
43.

Now, use the red pen to add small heart shapes in between the figures.
And there we have it, a couple sitting on a bench, enjoying a romantic gathering – and what could be better than that?
