Step-By-Step Images and Instructions
1.

Use a black pen to add two curved lines to the center of your page, with the top one longer than the bottom. Join these at the ends with curved lines.
2.

Add a half circle to the top of this, and add a curve to the bottom. Add a small circle to the top of this to draw the hat.
3.

Bring two curved lines down on either side from the bottom of this…
4.

And add a curved line to the bottom of this, with a small “bite” mark at the end. Bring curved lines down from the ends of these towards the bottom.

Add small oval shapes to the ends of these, and join these with a curved line in the center.

Add another line just inside this one…
7.

And then add lines to the side. Bring these in, across, and up to meet in the middle.

Add small “u” shapes to the bottom for the legs…
9.

And add two “backward C” shapes to the right of this.
10.

Now, add three curved “loops” to the right of the hat, with a small mark inside each.

Repeat this with shapes on the left…
12.

And then add a half-circle shape for the smiling mouth.
13.

Add a curve to the bottom of this, and shade the top with the black pen.
14.

Add small marks to the bottom of the mouth, and add curved eyes above.
15.

Turn these into crescent moon shapes, with small white dots to the sides…

Before adding black dots to the watermelon.
17.

Shade the watermelon with a red pen and use the same shade for the stripe on the hat.
18.

Use a pink pen for color on the cheeks, and the line above the watermelon…
19.

And an orange pen for the rest of the hat and the shorts, leaving slight white dots.

Grab a light pink pen for the face…
21.

And a dark pink pen for the bottom of the face.
22.

Use a gray pen for a line below the brim of the hat.
23.

Grab the pink pen for the bottom of each loop, and the “C” beside the shorts…
24.

And then shade the remaining space with the pink pen, leaving the rim of the watermelon.
25.

Add color to the edge of the watermelon with the green pen.
And just like that, you have brought your own adorable cartoon axolotl to life, enjoying a watermelon; all he needs now is a name!
