Raccoons are often misunderstood creatures, but they have a very cute side that is all too often overlooked – and we will prove it to you in just a few short, simple steps. Let’s get started!

1.

Grab a gray pencil, and add a curved line to the center of your page, curving this down, and add a small curved shape to the bottom.
2.

Add a “D” shaped ear to the end of this line.
3.

Add a curved line to the center of this, and then add another, smaller ear to the left of the main line.
4.

Bring a curved line down from the bottom of the right ear, and take this across to meet the nose on the left.
5.

Add another curved line just below the top of the head, and add a curved line to the bottom of this for the mouth.
6.

Add curved shapes across the face, and then add a small circle to the center for the eye, and a mark above this for the brow.

Bring a curved line down from the bottom right of the face.

Bring a curved line down from the bottom of the face, and then add a curved line to the front of this, pointing towards the bottom left-hand corner of the page, and add two curved lines to the right for the front paws.
9.

Bring a curved line down from the bottom of this leg, and curve this across to the right, adding a leg to the back, and then join this to the top. Add a curve inside this for the tummy.

Now, add another leg and foot to the bottom left…

Add add two small paws to the top arms.

Bring a curved line down inside the tummy…

And then add a curved tail to the back.

Add a series of curved stripes down the tail, and then add dots between each stripe.
15.

Use a black pen to add color to alternate sections of the tail, the front of the ears, and the stripes of the tail.
16.

Use a brown pen for the main body and the top of the face.
17.

Erase the pencil marks on the tummy.
18.

Shade the rest of the body, as well as the stripes on the tail with the gray pencil.
19.

Shade the hands with the black pen.
20.

Add a line to the bottom of the foot with the brown pen and a ruler.
21.

Bring a vertical line up from the left end of this, and then add a diagonal line to the bottom corner, using the brown pen and the ruler.
22.

Use the black pen to add a diagonal line to the right end of the bottom line, and a short mark to the left end.
23.

Use a red pen to add two small circles to the bottom of this, for the wheels of the scooter.
24.

Use the black pen to add “spokes” to the inside of this.
25.

Finally, use a black fineliner pen to add a dot to the center of the eye.
And there we have it – your very own cute cartoon raccoon; all that remains now is to give him a name!
