Step-By-Step Images and Instructions
1.

Start by taking a black pen, and drawing a triangle shape in the center of your page – do not add a line to the bottom of the triangle. Then, add a curved line to the left of this, heading down to the bottom left-hand corner of the page.
2.

Add another triangle shape to the other end of the line, to create a set of ears.
3.

Now, bring a curved line down from the bottom of the ear, and follow this around and down to join the other side, creating the outline of a cute cat face.
4.

Next, add a short line emerging from the point of each ear.
5.

Add a wavy line just above the bottom of the face, and add a small semicircle underneath the bump at the top. Then, add another, very small semicircle below this – this is the mouth of your cat!
6.

Add a small upside-down triangle shape above the mouth for a cute kitty nose…
7.

And create a long-lashed eye above this by drawing a small circle, and adding curved lines to the top and bottom. On the top, extend the line out to the right, and add a flick to the top of this.
8.

Repeat this on the left, reversing the action so that the line flicks out to the left.
9.

Add two small dots, one above each eye…
10.

And use a black fine liner pen to add two sets of two long, thin lines, extending up towards the top of the page.
11.

Now, add more whiskers, this time extending horizontally out from either side of the nose.
12.

Using a black pen, bring a curved line down from the left-hand side of the face, and add a small circular shape to the bottom of this. Add two small marks extending up from the bottom of the circle to create a paw.
13.

Add a small curve to the right of the paw, and then add a “C” shape angled at around 45 degrees, with another short mark in the middle.
14.

Now, add another “C” shape, at roughly the same angle, to the right of the cat’s face.
15.

Add two small ears joined by a curved line, and follow it round to create another face.
16.

Add a nose and mouth, and two small semicircles above this for eyes.
17.

Grab a black fine liner pen, and add whiskers running vertically and horizontally from the face of the kitten.
18.

Return to the black pen, and add a curved line emerging just below the right ear, down towards the center of the page. Then, add two small paws immediately below the face.
19.

Now, add a thicker curved line connecting the two animals – this should run from just under halfway down the cat’s face, across to the left-hand paw of the kitten.
20.

Bring another curved line across from the right paw of the kitten, and bring this down and across, flicking up in the center.
21.

Now, add another line to this to create the tail of the Mama cat.
22.

Add a short line to the bottom, connecting the tail to the front paw…
23.

And then use a gray pen to add a large patch to the back of the cat. Fill this in with the gray.
24.

Add the same gray shade to the paws of the cat, as well as her right ear…
25.

And then use a red pen to fill in the inside of the mouth.
26.

Use a cyan pen on the eyes of the large cat, bringing those keen cat eyes to life.
27.

Now use an orange pen to add color to the kitten’s paws, and half of her left ear.
28.

Use a black pen to add a small line to the ears of the kitten, just as you did with the larger cat.
29.

Now, use an orange pen to add color to the rest of the kitten.
And there we have it – your very own adorable Mama cat snuggled up with her cute kitten! If you are already a pet owner, chances are that you know a lot about cats and kittens – but there is still plenty to discover! Why not do a little research on larger cats such as lions or tigers, or try and discover something you never previously knew?
