Cats are known for their smarts, their sass, and, of course, their slightly superior attitude – but getting a chance to hang out with a feline friend is always a treat. To celebrate the humble cat, we have created the ultimate guide to drawing your own cute kitty – let’s get started!
Step-By-Step Images and Instructions
Use a black pen to draw a curved, vertical line on the left of your page. Take this across to the right at the bottom, up to a “point”, and then across and up.
Add a small black mark to the bottom left-hand corner of this, and then a “teardrop” shaped eye at the top, with a small mark in the center of this.
Close the shape up to create the face…
Bring a curved line up at the top, and then take this across to the top left-hand corner of the page. Then, add a curved pointed shape to the right of this.
From here, take a short curve to the right, and then continue the line across and down.
Bring a line across from the back of the face, and then add a front leg, bringing the back line up further.
Add another leg to the front…
And bring a line across from the first leg. Add a leg to the back, with a large curve at the top for the hip.
Add another leg to the front of the back one, and join this to the front legs.
Add another curve above the one in the center.
Add a curved tail to the back, taking this down and to the left…
And then add a curved rectangle to the front of the cat’s face.
Add a fish to the side of the bowl.
Draw a wavy line above the bowl for the food.
Grab a light orange pen and shade the main body of the cat…
And then use a dark brown for the legs, tail, face, and ears.
Color the food with an orange pen…
And use a brown pen to add dots to this.
Use a light pink pen for the bowl.
Then, use a blue pen for the eyes…
And use a gray pen for an oval beneath the body for the shadow.
Now, isn’t that one of the cutest kitties that you have ever seen? All that remains is to name her, and she can go to bed with a full stomach and a happy heart!
