Step-By-Step Images and Instructions
1.

Start with a black pen, and draw a curved line in the center of your page. Add another, shorter curved line below this, and then join the two at the sides.
2.

Add a curved “m” shape inside this shape.
3.

Now, add spikes all around the outside of the original shape…
4.

And then add a curved line, with a small circle on the right end, to the left of this.
5.

Bring a line down from the left of this new line, and then curve it across to the right.
6.

Return to the left of the line, and this time take a line up towards the top right corner, and add a “bump”. Then, add another curved line to the right of this.
7.

Add a square, angled “C” shape, with a spike emerging from the bottom, just above this curved line of the mouth. Then, add a series of short, curved lines to the bottom section.
8.

Return to the end of the bottom line, and bring a curved line down towards the bottom left-hand corner of the page…
9.

And then use a black fineliner pen to add a sharp, pointed tooth to the top of this. Add two more pointed teeth emerging from the top of the mouth, towards the bottom.
10.

Return to the original pen, and add a curved line just behind the bottom tooth. Then, bring a line across from this to the tooth, and then across to the left, before curving this up to a fork. Add another line to the bottom of this.
11.

Add another tooth to the left of the one at the bottom.
12.

Then, add another curved line just behind the first.
13.

Add a series of curved marks all along the bottom jaw.
14.

Add a curved “m” to the right of the jaw…
15.

And then add a line to the right of the race, curving this across, down towards the bottom left-hand corner, and then across to the right.
16.

Add another line just above this bottom curve, and take this to the right, and then back across to the left and up slightly.
17.

Bring another line down from the bottom jaw, and connect this to the curve at the bottom, leaving a slight “tail” to the left.
18.

Add another curved inside the top of the back, and a wavy line heading from the bottom of the jaw across to the right.
19.

Now, add another curved line down the center of the shape you have created so far.
20.

Add another curve to the left, at the top…
21.

And then add a series of curved horizontal lines down the central section of your cobra’s body.
22.

Add another curved section to the bottom, and take this across, up, and to the right to meet the central section of the body.
23.

Add another curved section to the bottom…
24.

And fill this with curved, vertical lines for scales.
25.

Now, add a small, curved point to the bottom left.
26.

Now, return to the “tail” you left earlier, and connect this to the central section of the body with a short, wavy line.
27.

Use a yellow pen to add a fierce pop of color to the eye.
28.

Use an orange pen for the central and bottom sections…
29.

And use the same orange pen for the forked tongue.
30.

Now, use a green pen to shade the rest of your cobra’s body.
31.

Use a red pen to add color to the section on the outer eye.
And voila – a stunning cobra, just waiting to be discovered -and there is plenty to learn about these curious majestic creatures. Feeling brave? Then delve a little deeper to unlock their secrets…
