1.

Grab a pencil and a drawing compass, and draw a large circle in the center of your page.
2.

Use a pencil and a ruler to draw a large cross in the center of this circle.
3.

Then, use the compass and pencil to draw a half-circle above the central line.
4.

From the bottom of this, use the ruler to bring a line down on either side, connecting this at the bottom with a horizontal line.
5.

Next, add a slight curve below this straight line.
6.

Use an eraser to remove the straight line above the curve.
7.

Now, add a long, thin oval shape to the top line in the central section – this is the scrolling wheel of your mouse.
8.

Use the ruler to add short lines on either side of the wheel…
9.

And add a curved line to connect these lines at the bottom.
10.

Use a ruler to add another line below the one at the top of the mouse.
11.

Next, take two parallel, wavy lines up from the top of the mouse. Take these across to the right, and then up to the top right corner of the outer circle.
12.

Use the ruler to draw a series of horizontal lines to the left of the mouse.
13.

Add diagonal lines from the top right to the edge of the circle, and the bottom left to the bottom of the circle.
14.

Grab a black fineliner pen and use this to go over the outlines, leaving the diagonal and short label lines in pencil.
15.

Take the black pen, and label the relevant parts of the mouse – “Left button”, “Scroll wheel and middle button”, “Cable”, and “Right button”.
16.

Use the black fineliner pen and the ruler to connect the labels to the relevant areas of the mouse.
17.

Use an eraser to remove all pencil lines, with the exception of those at the bottom…
18.

And shade the space in between these lines with an orange pen.
19.

Use a lighter orange to fill in the space in the rest of the circle.
20.

Grab a gray pen, and shade the central scroll wheel and bottom of the cable.
21.

Shade the scroll wheel with a black pen.
And there we have it – everything that you need to know about the mouse that is such a crucial element of your daily computer life!
