Step-By-Step Images and Instructions
1.

Start with a black pen, and draw an “n” shape, slightly angled, in the left side of your page.
2.

Add a “teardrop” shape to the right of this, and then another wavy shape to the left.
3.

Add two small back dots…
4.

And then bring out a rounded ear on either side, adding a curved line just below the top of each.
5.

Draw two curved horns on the head, inside the ears.
6.

Now, add a wide oval shape to the bottom of the face…
7.

And add a curved line to the bottom of this. Add two “horseshoe” shaped nostrils inside the bottom section.
8.

Draw a small flower emerging from the bottom of the mouth…
9.

And then take a curved line across from the right horn, across to the right, and down.
10.

Add a small “tuft” to the end of this to start creating your calf.
11.

Add pointed ears to either side of this central tuft, and then add a curved line just below the top of the right ear.
12.

Bring a curved line down on either side to create the face…
13.

And then add an oval to the bottom for the nose, and another small, curved shape beneath this for the mouth.
14.

Add two black dots for the face for the calf’s eyes, and then add two small circles to the nose for nostrils.
15.

Add a curve to the left ear, and then draw a wavy line across the face to create a patch. Add a curved line from the top of the calf’s head to the right horn of the adult.
16.

Then, bring a curved line across from the left ear of the calm, down towards the bottom of the page.
17.

Take this line down a little further, and then take it across to the right and up at an angle to form the back leg. Bring a line down behind this, and add a small triangle to the bottom to create a tail.
18.

Return to the leg, and take a line across, and then down, across and up to form another leg. Add small marks to the bottom for hooves.
19.

Add another leg to the right at the one at the front…
20.

And then a fourth leg to the back.
21.

Now, add wavy patches all across the back and body of your calf.
22.

Draw a pointed, curved shape emerging from the top of the calfs head…
23.

And then bring a line down from beneath the adult cows chin. Add two legs, and then use a curved line to connect the right leg to the back of the cow.
24.

Add black hooves to the bottom of the cows legs, and then use the black fineliner to draw wispy blades of grass all around the feet.
25.

Repeat this with blades of grass around the feet of the calf…
26.

And then add a series of patches all across the mama cow.
27.

Add a few petals and flowers in between the two creatures…
28.

And then use a brown pen to shade the patches and areas of the face, as well as sections of the ears.
29.

Fill in the center of some of the other patches with a lighter brown pen…
30.

And then use a pale orange pen for the rest of the body on each animal.
31.

Bring color to the flowers with a yellow pen…
32.

And then use a green pen for a few details of grass at the bottom.
Now – did you ever see a more adorable scene than those two cute cows just enjoying life?
