Crosses are evocative symbols, and their beauty is only enhanced when we add a heart to them – as we will see in our simple tutorial below.

Start with a black fineliner pen, and draw a small heart in the center of your page, curling the tops inwards to form spirals.

Use a slightly thicker black pen to add a curved cross shape around the heart.

Use an orange pen to shade the heart…

And then add a spiral to each arm of the cross.
5.
Add a small mark below each spiral.
6.
Now, use an orange pen to add curved lines to the sides of the spirals.

Shade the center of the heart with the orange pen…

And then use a pink pen to add marks and dashes across the spirals.
9.
Use a blue pen for more small dashes and marks.
10.
Finally, use a red pen to go over the spirals in the center of the cross arms.
And just like that, you have a beautiful symbol to share with those you love – what could be a better gift than that?
