Looking for a treat to satisfy that sweet tooth? There are few things better than a mouthwatering cupcake to take the edge off! In just a few short steps, we will learn how to bring our very own cupcake to life – anyone else feeling peckish?
Step-By-Step Images and Instructions
Begin by taking a black pen, and making a wavy line in the center of your page – the left edge should be pointing upwards.
Add another wavy line below the first, connecting the edges with a point. Leave a slight gap in your new top line.
Now, use another line to divide the bottom section, but leave small gaps in this. Above the gaps, add small dots or marks.
Add another line above the top one – once again, this should be dashed, with several small gaps.
Add another line to the top, once again, being careful to include dashes and gaps. The lines should be decreasing in length as you ascend.
Once again, add a shorter line above the last one, and include dashes.
Add a series of small dots or gaps in each later, above the spaces you have left gaps. This will later be the icing on the cake – literally!
Next, add a semicircle line close to the bottom of your page, beneath the icing.
Take a black pen and ruler, and connect the right-hand edge of the line to the bottom of the icing. Repeat this on the left, but leave a small gap close to the top.
Next, use the black pen and ruler to draw two unbroken vertical lines in the center of this shape. In the middle of these two lines, add two shorter lines, with a gap between each of these, and the top line and the top of the section. Repeat this shape to the right of the right-hand unbroken line, and then add a line from the bottom, stopping just below the top. On the left-hand side, add two more “broken” lines.
Use the black pen and ruler to draw a tall, thin rectangle emerging from the top of the icing – leave a gap on the right-hand edge.
Using a black pen, add a flame to the top of this shape.
Now, add a series of short, angled lines heading up the length of the rectangle, to decorate the candle.
Take the black pen and ruler, and add a line behind the cupcake, just above the bottom. This should be broken at either end.
Take the black pen, and add a series of small marks to the bottom section…
Before adding “X” shapes all around the sides and top of the candle.
Add a couple of stunning star shapes…
And use a yellow pen to bring the flame to life.
Using a cyan pen, add color to every other stripe in your candle…
And fill in the base of the cupcake with a highlighter pen.
Finally, use a bright pink highlighter pen to create your icing, and create a cheerful finish.
Phew – all that drawing is sure to have seen you work up an appetite. Anyone for tea and cake?
