Of all the animals native to Australia, the koala is one of the most popular – and it is easy to see why when you see how cute they are! In just a few steps, we will learn how to create our very own koala – let’s get started.
Step-By-Step Images and Instructions
Start by taking a gray pen, and drawing a curved line in the center of your page, adding a jagged edge to the top.
Now, add another curved shape to the right of this, adding two jagged sections to the top. Make a short mark to the left of this. This is one ear for your koala.
Now, repeat this on the other side to create the second ear.
Now, add a large, curved shape to the bottom left of the head, and add three small marks inside this for toes.
Add a long, thin curved shape to the right of this…
And add two small marks to make the second set of toes.
Bring down a line from the right arm, and curve this across to the left. Then, add another curved shape to the left, curving this up, and across to the right.
Add a curved “w” shape to the left of this. Extend the left strand of the “w” up and across to the right.
Now, switch to a black fineliner pen. Add a bunch of leaves in between the hands.
Complete the bottom of the koala with your gray pen.
Now, use the black fineliner pen to add a series of small marks all across the ears…
Now, add a large semicircle shape to the bottom of the face. Fill this in almost completely, leaving a white strip at the top. This creates that distinctive nose that koalas are famous for.
Add two curved lines on either side of the nose for eyes. Add small marks to the ends.
Now, use a pink pen to add small ovals beneath the eyes…
Grab a gray pencil, and add small circles all across the head and body of the koala. Then, shade the rest of the body with the gray.
Grab a green pen, and add color to the leaf on the right.
Add a slightly lighter green pen, and use this to fill in the rest of the leaves in the bunch.
And just like that, you have your own super cute koala – now is your chance to learn more about these wonderful creatures.
