Step-By-Step Images and Instructions
1.

Start with a black fineliner pen, and draw a “C” shape in the right-hand side of your page. Make sure that the top and bottom lines are nice and long, and add two small “bumps” to the line at the top.
2.

Move to the right of the second “bump” at the top, and add a large “horseshoe” shape, ending level with the top of the “C”.
3.

From the left of this, bring a line across to the left, curving down to meet the top of the “C”. Then, add another, shorter shape to the left of this.
4.

Return to the first “horseshoe” shape, and add a series of smaller shapes inside the first.
5.

Bring a line out from the right of this, and angle this down at a 45-degree angle to the bottom right-hand corner of the page. Then flick the ling out slightly, and curve it down, out, and back across to the left. Add a large “bump” to the end of this.
6.

Connect this line to the one above it, and then add a series of razor-sharp teeth to the bottom of the “C” – do you see the head of your dinosaur springing to life?
7.

Add another series of jagged shapes to create a row of teeth at the bottom…
8.

And then add curved lines above this for your dinosaur’s tongue.
9.

Next, bring a line across from the bottom of the chin, across to the left, and curving up.
10.

At the top of this, create a “point”, and follow the line back down in a curve, creating the outline of the tail.
11.

Add a jagged line in the center of the tail, curving back up to meet the original point on the right.
12.

Next, bring a line from the end of the tail, first heading up to meet the jagged section, and then across at a 45-degree angle, before flicking across to the left, and waving down towards the bottom of the page.
13.

Replicate this to the right, adding another wavy line.
14.

Connect these lines at the bottom with three long tows, and add teardrop-shaped claws to the end of each of these.
15.

Now, bring a line down from below the point at the bottom of the jaw, and curve this down, across to the right, and flick down at the bottom. Parallel this with a line underneath, and connect this to the line you just drew.
16.

Add two more toes, complete with claws, to the end of this section.
17.

Now, add a long, curved line from the front of the leg right up to the right-hand side of the face, to give your dinosaur a cute belly.
18.

Add another arm, complete with claws, to the right of this…
19.

And bring a curved line down underneath this arm. Add a short, curved line just at the bottom of the belly.
20.

Bring two parallel lines out towards the bottom right-hand corner of the page…
21.

And join these with a powerful foot, complete with three toes and sharp claws.
22.

Use the fineliner to add a series of small marks across each of the toes at the bottom.
23.

Now, add two small dots inside the nose to create nostrils…
24.

And fill in the inner ring of the eyes with a bold black.
25.

Now for some color. Use a brown-orange pen for the main body of the dinosaur…
26.

And a brown pen for the section across his back, and inside the mouth.
27.

Grab a pink pen to add color to the tongue and complete the look.
And just like that, you have brought a prehistoric creature back to life! Why not spend a little time learning more about these amazing creatures – you will soon be lost in a world of wonder.
