Step-By-Step Images and Instructions
1.

Start by taking a black fineliner pen, and drawing a long three-sided shape in the left-hand section at the top of your page.
2.

Add another horizontal line just above that at the bottom.
3.

Now, bring a curved line across from the top right corner, and bring this across and curving down towards the bottom left-hand corner of the page.
4.

Bring another curved line down, this time from the bottom right corner of the original shape.
5.

Now, take the top line, and curve the line across to the right, before tapering down towards the bottom right-hand corner of the page.
6.

Return to the line at the bottom, and bring it down and across to the right, adding a jagged section as you go.
7.

Bring the top line across to the left with a slight bumpy line…
8.

And add a circle to the top of the head to create an eye.
9.

Now, add two bumpy lines just above the bottom of the neck.
10.

Add a large, curved shape to the center of the body, almost like a “U”, angled at around 45 degrees.
11.

Fill in the end of the “U” with a bumpy line to create a wing.
12.

Add another layer to the wing with another bumpy line, just below the first…
13.

And then repeat this with a third row of feathers.
14.

Now, add another series of bumps all across the bottom to create tailfeathers.
15.

Bring two curved lines down from the gap at the bottom – these should curve in, and then back out at the bottom.
16.

Repeat this on the left-hand side…
17.

And then add two lines at a 90-degree angle to the back leg.
18.

Close this with two “spikes” to create a foot…
19.

And repeat this on the other foot using a single point.
20.

Add tiny black triangles to the tips of each foot…
21.

And then use an orange pen to fill in the beak.
22.

Then, use a pink pen to add color to the legs and the neck.
23.

Grab a black pen for the back, and the top layer of feathers to complete your look.
And there we have it – a smart, sassy ostrich, just waiting for an exciting adventure to begin…
