Step-By-Step Images and Instructions
1.

Start by taking a black pen and drawing a large, angled “v” shape just to the left of the center of your page.
2.

Add a series of short, diagonal lines all down the length of this to create a horn for your unicorn…
3.

And then add a “flame” shape to the right of this to add the first ear.
4.

From the left-hand line of the ear, bring a wavy line across at an angle, and curl this up at the end in a spiral shape.
5.

Now, add a second line above the first, waving across and stopping just below the curl.
6.

Add another line from the end of this, this time curving up and across to the edge of the horn. Continue the line on the right of the horn to join the ear.
7.

Now, bring a line down from just below the left edge, and wave this down towards the bottom of the page, flicking out slightly at the bottom. Then, add a “u” shape across to the left. Do you see the face of your unicorn starting to take shape?
8.

Add another, smaller “u” shape to the right of the first, and then continue the line up towards the top right-hand corner of the page.
9.

Add two more curved lines to the left-hand section, creating a swishy forelock for your unicorn.
10.

Now, bring a line down from the bottom left-hand corner of the ear. Curve this across towards the bottom right-hand corner of the page, and then spiral the line in.
11.

From the top of the spiral, bring another curved line up and across to meet the bottom of the ear…
12.

And then bring another curved line down to the right.
13.

At the end of the line, you just drew, bring down another line on the left to create another spiral…
14.

And then add another curved line to the top.
15.

Add another section to the mane by adding a line below this…
16.

And then add a small spiral to the space between the two spirals on the left.
17.

Add another, larger spiral below this…
18.

And a slightly smaller one to the right.
19.

Next, bring a wavy line down from the center of the jaw, and curve this around to the right to meet the bottom spiral.
20.

Add a small wavy line to the center of the face, with a smaller circle beneath this. Then, add a smaller circle inside the larger one, and fill in the surrounding space to create an eye.
21.

Add another small circle to the bottom of the nose, and add a small, curved line above this…
22.

Before using a black fineliner pen to add short curved lines on either side of the nose.
23.

At the end of the left line, add a large flower shape…
24.

And a small heart just below the eye.
25.

Now for some color! Use a pink pen for the outside of the flower, just below the chin, and to fill in the heart. Add the same shade to the inside of the ear, the middle and almost to the tip of the horn, and the space just below the forelock, as well as the line above the second section.
26.

Use a cyan pen for the stripes on the horn below the pink ones, and the line above the forelock…
27.

And then use a light green pen to the top line of the unicorn’s mane, as well as the stripe at the bottom of the horn.
28.

Grab a yellow pen for the line below this green one, and the bottom half of the forelock/
29.

Use the cyan pen to complete the top of the mane, and add a stripe to the horn…
30.

And then go in with a purple pen for another section of the bottom of the mane.
31.

Use the cyan pen to outline the top curl on the left…
32.

And fill in the section above this with a pink pen.
33.

Use a yellow pen to add another line beneath this…
34.

And then a line of pink pen below this, filling in the second spiral.
35.

Use a cyan pen to add another stripe…
36.

And a light green pen to finish this second “section”.
37.

Turn to the top curl to the left, and use a yellow pen to add a thin line.
38.

Add a line of the pink pen next to this, including the curl itself…
39.

And then a light green pen to the left of this.
40.

Now, use a cyan pen, pink pen, and yellow pen for the small curl just to the right of this.
41.

Next, take a light green pen, cyan pen, and a pink pen, and apply these to the bottom curl…
42.

Before using a yellow pen on the final curl of the mane.
43.

Then, use a pink pen, a cyan pen, and a light green pen for the remainder of the mane.
44.

Grab the cyan pen and use this to go over the wavy line at the top of the eyes.
45.

Finally, use the yellow pen to draw another wavy line at the top of the eyes to complete your unicorn.
And there we have it – a stunning fantasy creature, brought to life before your very eyes! All that remains now is to decide on the first adventure – time to use your imagination!
