Step-By-Step Images and Instructions
1.

Start with a black fineliner pen, and draw a small “crescent moon” shape at the top of your page, with a small circle just above this.
2.

Add two short, curved lines – one on either side of the central circle.
3.

Now, enclose all the shapes in a circle, adding a “bump” to the top line. Extend the line on the left-hand side of the circle up a little higher.
4.

Add two curvy sections to the top of the shape, each enclosing one of the curved lines – this is the face of your sloth!
5.

Return to the line you extended at the top, and bring this across to the right in a jagged line, before following this down towards the bottom of the page. Then, extend the line at the bottom left of the face down a little further.
6.

Bring two wavy lines across to the right of the page, and join these with a curve at the end. Add a little “jagged” section to the bottom line.
7.

Repeat this on the left to create a second arm…
8.

And then add three pointed claws to the end of each of the arms.
9.

Bring two jagged lines down, one on either side, curving out, down, and then back in at the ends.
10.

Add a curved, slightly jagged line to the left, descending from the bottom of the body and curving across to the right, before bringing it back up slightly…
11.

And then continue the line across and down to create another leg on the right.
12.

Add three more claws to each of the bottom legs…
13.

And use a gray pen to fill in the shapes on the face.
14.

Next, grab a brown pen, and complete the main body of the sloth.
15.

Add color to the claws with a black fineliner pen…
16.

And then add some shadow beneath his feet with a gray pen.
17.

Use a light brown pen to add color to the rest of the face…
18.

And use a dark gray pen on the eyes for a little extra detail.
And there we have it – a very happy, super cute dabbing sloth! These are truly amazing creatures, so why not take the time to learn a little more about the things they can do – I promise you, it is far more than just sleeping!
