Step-By-Step Images and Instructions
1.

Grab a black pen, and draw a loopy “u” shape in the center of your page.
2.

Then, add a small half-circle to the right of this.
3.

Connect the half-circle to the original shape with a curved line, and then bring another curved line up on the right. Do you see the ear and face of your dog starting to take shape?
4.

Add another “u” shape to the top of the line to create an ear on the right…
5.

And then curve a line across from the end of this, towards the left.
6.

Now, add a curved “point” to the center of the face, between the ears.
7.

Add two thick curved lines, one in each section…
8.

And then a smattering of small dots all around the nose.
9.

Now, add a “teardrop” shape to the right of the face.
10.

Bring another curved line down from below the left ear, angling down at the bottom, and then back up, ending roughly level with the top of the ear.
11.

Add a curved line from the outside of this, reaching up and in…
12.

And then add another back leg to the left of this, curving the outline line up and across.
13.

In the remaining gap, add a pointed, wagging tail.
14.

Now, add small marks to the bottom of the paws, to create tiny toes.
15.

Next, add a long, thin curved shape to the right of the right paw, with a point at the end.
16.

Repeat this shape a few more times, creating a clump of grass.
17.

Add a curved line to the right, and bring this across to the left and up to meet the paws…
18.

And then add a series of small marks all around this bottom section to show that your dog is digging!
19.

Now, add a patch to the tail, and a couple of patches to the back legs, the top of the back, and the ears.
20.

Use a black pen to fill in these patches…
21.

And then a yellow pen for the grass at the front.
22.

Finally, fill in the section at the bottom with a brown pen.
And just like that, you have drawn one very happy dog – let’s just hope that is not a prized flowerbed he is digging up!
