1.

Start with a black pen, and add an angled horseshoe shape to the center of your page.
2.

From the bottom of each half of the horseshoe, bring a curved line up and in, and then take the lines up to the top to create two “sections”.
3.

Add a curved half-circle shape to the bottom of this, in between the two sections…
4.

And bring a line down from the center of this, curving it across to either side for a mouth.
5.

Add a large bone to the bottom of the mouth.
6.

Add an oval to either side of the face for eyes, and then add two more curved lines inside each.
7.

Add a small oval above each eye…
8.

8.

And then add a large, curved ear to either side. Follow the outline with a smaller shape inside.
9.

Bring two curved lines down at the sides of the body…
10.

And almost join these with a bumpy line at the bottom, leaving a small gap.
11.

Bring curved lines up to create two feet with toes…
12.

And connect these at the bottom with a curved line. Then, bring the sides of the feet up and in to join at the top with a curved line.
13.

Add two legs to the sides for the back legs…
14.

And add a curved, pointed tail to the left, with a curved line for the tip.
15.

Add a curved line to the chest, below the bone…
17.

And then add color to the left inner ear with a pink pen.
18.

Use a brown pen for the tail…
19.

And then use a brown pen for the main body and nose of the dog.
20.

Use a darker brown for the back legs…
21.

Use a yellow pen to shade the bone…
22.

And then use a gray pen for the tip of the tail, the toe, the ears and the center of the face.
23.

Use a dark brown to shade the eyes…
24.

And then a light brown for the other ear.
Now, we don’t know about you, but that looks like a very happy, contented canine – and what more can we ask for?
