Step-By-Step Images and Instructions
1.

Begin by using a ruler and a black pen to draw a large square in the center of your page.
2.

Use a black fineliner to add two curved lines to the top of the box, and then add another curved line to the top of each, connecting these at either end with a point.
3.

Next, add another curved line in between these two shapes, and take the right end downwards.
4.

Now, add an angled “C” shape to the left end of this line…
5.

And bring a curved line down from the bottom of this.
6.

Now, add a curved line to the front line. Take this to a point and then across to the left.
7.

Add another point just below the first, and take the bottom line across to the left.
8.

Now, add a curved “V” shape to the left end of the line…
9.

And bring a curved line down behind this, forming the outline of the body.
10.

Draw two pointed, curved shapes to the end, to form the distinctive tail of the dolphin.
11.

Add two circles to the front of the face, one inside the other, to create the face.
12.

Now, add two smaller shapes inside the eyes…
13.

And then add a curved line above the bottom of the body, as well as two smaller shapes inside the tail.
14.

Add curved shapes inside the fins and tail…
15.

And then add another fin to the bottom of the body.
16.

Now, draw a series of water droplets all around the tail and the side of the body.
17.

Connect these with two wavy shapes in the center…
18.

And then add long, thin curved shapes to the right.
19.

Now, draw two groups of three small circles, all attached to one another, above these shapes.
20.

Add a series of long, curved petals all around the outside of the right group…
21.

And bring two curved, parallel lines down from the bottom of this to create a palm tree.
22.

Add a jagged line to the right of this…
23.

And then follow the steps to create another palm tree on the left of the first, with jagged lines on either side.
24.

Now, add two long, thin shapes below the trees, once again using jagged lines to form the shapes.
25.

Shade the ring around the eye with a black pen…
26.

And then use a blue pen to color the main body of the dolphin, leaving the patches and belly white.
27.

Use this blue pen and a ruler to draw a horizontal line across the page, just above the bottom of the tail.
28.

Shade the area below this with the blue to create water…
29.

And then use a lighter blue pen for the droplets and the sky behind your dolphin.
30.

Now, use a green pen to shade the top of the palm trees.
31.

Shade the bottom of these palm trees with a brown pen…
32.

And then use the green pen to shade the foliage on either side.
33.

Finally, use a yellow pen to shade the sandy areas below the palm trees.
And there we have it – a super cute dolphin, enjoying the feel of the sun on his back, and the water on his face – what could be better than that?
