Step-By-Step Images and Instructions
1.

Grab a pencil, and add a slanted “W” shape to the top right of your page, joining the top of the sides with a curved line – this will be the beak.
2.

Bring a curved line down from the bottom of the beak, and across to the left. Bring a line up from the top of the break, take this across, down, and then down to the bottom left-hand corner.
3.

Add a large shape to the bottom, with jagged lines to create the feathers of the tail.
4.

Bring two curved shapes to the front of the body for claws…
5.

Add a teardrop shape to the beak, and add a smaller shape inside this for the eyes.
6.

Bring a curved line down at the bottom of the body, and add another couple of layers of feathers in the tail.
7.

Shade this bottom section, and layers of the tail with a gray pencil.
8.

Bring a wing up to the top from behind the head.
9.

Add another, slightly curved wing to the back…
10.

And add two smaller shapes inside this.
11.

Use a darker gray pencil for the inside of the left wing, and a lighter gray pen for the section outside this.
12.

Add another section just inside the line of the right wing.
13.

Use the pencil for the outside of this wing.
14.

Now, add two pointed, bumpy lines across the bottom of the neck.
15.

Shade this shape with the gray pencil…
16.

And then use a red pen to add color to the claws and beak.
17.

Complete the eye with a black pen.
And there we have it – a beautiful dove, flying through the sky as a free bird. What could be better than that?
