There are few things more adorable than the sight of a mother duck with her brood of insanely fluffy ducklings – this is a scene guaranteed to bring a smile to your face! Still not convinced? Then let’s take a closer look…
Step-By-Step Images and Instructions
Start with a yellow pen, and add an oval shape to the top left of your page, making the left end of this curved and a little pointed.
Switch to an orange pen, and add a small triangle to the bottom of this. Fill this in with the orange pen to create the beak.
Grab a green pen, and add a line to the right side of these shapes. Take this across in a curve, and then down to create spikes across to the left. Bring the line up to meet the bottom of the beak.
Shade this in with the green pen, leaving a small white oval for the eye.
Use the black pen to add a small ring to the inside of this oval.
Use the yellow pen to add another layer of feathers to the bottom of the neck.
Then, use a darker yellow pen to bring a line down, across to the right, and up.
Grab a brown pen, and add a small wing shape to the center of the shape you have just created.
Fill this in with the brown pen to create a wing…
And then use a darker brown pen to add layers of feathers inside the wing.
Use the darker yellow shade to fill in the rest of the body.
Grab an orange pen, and use this to add a small leg and webbed foot to the bottom of the body.
Follow this with another foot in front…
And then use the green pen to add another layer of tail feathers to the back of the duck.
Grab an orange pen, and draw another, smaller beak to the right of the duck.
Use a brown pen to add a curve to the bottom of this…
And then use a yellow pen to create the outline of a duckling, filling this in with the yellow pen.
Follow this with another beak to the right, using an orange pen…
And then use the yellow pen to create another duckling.
Use the orange pen for a third beak…
And then the yellow pen for a third duckling at the back.
Use the brown pen to add a mark to the bottom of the beaks on the ducklings.
Grab a black pen, and add two dark eyes onto each of the ducklings faces…
And then use the orange pen to add two small feet to the bottom of each.
Use the same orange pen to add a small wing to the back of each of the ducklings.
Grab a gray pencil, and add a small oval to the bottom of each set of feet, shading this gently with the gray pencil.
Now, isn’t that one of the cutest things you have ever had the chance to see? All that remains is to give the mama and all her ducklings their own adorable names.
