Step-By-Step Images and Instructions
1.

Start with a black fineliner, and add two small “u” shapes to the center of your page.
2.

Draw a small, curved half-circle in the bottom of each “U” for the mouths, and then add a pointed nose above each, and two sets of curved lines for the eyes.
3.

Connect the two sides of the “U” on the right shape to create the outline of the face, and add a “D” shapes ear to the right. Then, add a small, curved line to the bottom of this,
4.

From the bottom of this line, take a line across to the right, and curve this up, across to the left, and down to meet the top left corner of the face.
5.

Add another wavy shape to the left of this, almost in the shape of a crook, framing the left face.
6.

Now, add another mouth, nose, and eyes to the right of these shapes, and bring the left side of the face down.
7.

At the top of this line, bring a wavy line across, and then down, and add another line to the left of this for the neck.
8.

Add another face to the left of the drawing, this time drawing the line of the right side of the face…
9.

And bring a wavy line across the top, down, and then out for the ear on the left.
10.

Now, add hair to the first face you drew, with a large “cloud” shape on the outside of the face.
11.

Follow this with a curved line emerging from the top left of the next face, and take this across, down to a point, and up to create the hair of the second person.
12.

Follow this with a large, wavy cloud of hair for the woman on the right, and a short, wavy hairdo for the man on the left.
13.

Now add two curved lines to the right middle figure, taking this down and across to the left, narrowing as they reach the end. This will be the arm of this figure.
14.

Bring a line across diagonally from the bottom of the girl’s hair towards the top left corner, and then use a curved line to connect the right side of this to the side of the boy’s face, continuing this across to the woman’s neck.
15.

Add an arm to the man on the left, taking this across and curving it to the right, up, and then back across.
16.

Add a hand to the end of this arm…
17.

And then bring a curved line across from the right of the hand, to meet the bottom of the mother’s hair.
18.

Use a black pen to go over all your outlines…
19.

And then use an eraser to remove any pencil marks.
20.

Grab a light pink pen to shade the faces and hands of the family.
21.

Use a brown pen for the hair of the girls, and the arm of the boy.
22.

Grab a red pen, and shade the body of the woman…
23.

And then use a gray pen for the father’s arm.
24.

Use a black pen to add color to the hair of the boys…
25.

And use gray for the body of the girl.
26.

Finally, use a light pink pen to add spots of color to the cheeks of each figure.
And there we have it -a wonderful, happy family, ready and waiting for all of the adventures that life has to offer them.
