Foxgloves are one of the most distinctive flowers that you are likely to see in many forests – but take care, as they can be toxic to some of our beloved pets. Stay safe by enjoying them from a distance, and bring one to life in just a few simple steps.
Step-By-Step Images and Instructions
Start with a black pen, and draw three small “teardrop shapes”, all joined at the top, in the center of your page.
Add a pointed “cone” shape to the left, with an oval at the bottom of this.
Draw a curved line at the top of this, heading to the left, and then repeat the shape.
Continue to add to the shapes, with another, long thin bell, on the left.
Add two larger bells below…
Repeat this with another two bells…
And then another pair of slightly longer bells at the bottom.
Next, add a row of three bells below…
And then add four long, thin “teardrop” shapes below this – angle the points towards the right side of the page.
Add another “teardrop” shape, this time facing the other way.
Connect these with two long, parallel lines to form a stem.
Continue to add leaves to the left side of the stem.
Now, use a black fineliner to add tiny dots to the bottom of each bell.
Use a pink pen to shade the sides of the bells…
And then go over the bottoms with a yellow pen.
Grab a green pen, and use this to shade the stems and leaves.
And there we have it – a gorgeous foxglove. It is a good idea to take a little time to learn more about these fascinating flowers, to ensure that you and your furry friends stay safe and healthy.
