1.

how to draw a geometric stag step 1

Start with a black fineliner, and draw a “fork” in the right of your page, angled towards the top right-hand corner. Make the tops of each fork flat.

2.

Add a second fork to the left of the first…

3.

And then bring another prong out to the bottom.

4.

Bring the bottom line of this across to the left and then back down, before adding another “prong” to the top left.

Next, add another “fork” to the left of the group you have just created, making the right prong longer than the left, and angled slightly to the right.

6.

Add another “fork” to the right, with the prongs slightly angled.

7.

Now, join the two sides together with a point, and then a line connecting the two sections.

8.

Bring another prong out to the left, and then bring two short lines down in the center.

9.

Leave a slight gap, and then add two more vertical parallel lines…

10.

Add lines inside each of these to create “points”, and then connect the two points with a straight, horizontal line.

11.

Connect the right “point” to the bottom of the right antler with an angled shape…

12.

And add a horizontal line to the left of this, before taking this down to meet the left “point”.

13.

Add a similar shape to the left…

14.

And then divide this into small triangles.

15.

Bring down two long, thin shapes inside each “point”…

16.

And then follow this with another shape inside each of these ones.

17.

Add a shape to the center, creating a nose for your stag.

18.

Divide the antlers into sections…

19.

And bring a line down from the left, across horizontally, and curve this down, in, and then back out to form the back leg.

20.

Add another line to the right of the face, and take this down, in, and then back out towards the bottom.

21.

Bring a line across in a “v”, and then back up to form the first leg.

22.

Take a line across to the left…

23.

And then add another leg to the back. Take the back line of this up at an angle, then back down out and straight towards the bottom.

24.

Add another leg to the back…

And then the fourth leg behind the one at the front.

26.

Now divide the body and legs into a series of triangles and squares.

27.

Fill in the nose and two triangles at the top for eyes with a black pen.

Next, use a yellow pen for the space under the eyes, and the ears on the edges.

Grab a brown pen, and use this to fill in the rest of the body and complete your stag.

And there we are – it is easy to see why the stag is the king of the jungle, with their impressive, regal presence. Why not tell his story a little further, starting with where he goes next? There is plenty to discover about these wonderful animals.
