Step-By-Step Images and Instructions
Start with a black pen and a ruler, and draw a large square in the center of your page.
Switch to a black fineliner pen, and draw a curved line, complete with a curve on either side at the bottom, in the bottom right of the square.
Next, add a small “u” shape to the top of this.
Bring a line down on either side of this, and then take the lines out in a “bump”, and back in to meet the curve at the bottom.
Add two curved shapes, with “bumpy” bottoms, to the top of each “stem”.
Now, add small circles all around the main section, and add a small curve to the left.
Bring a curved “wing” shape out on either side, just below the top…
And then add a second, small shape inside the first.
Take a line up from the top, and then bring this back down, making this second line slightly jagged and bumpy.
Add a slightly curved line on either side of this to form the face and neck of your giraffe.
Now, add two wavy, parallel, angled lines to the right, and connect these at the bottom with a curve.
Draw a curved hoof, split in the middle, at the end of this…
And then connect the right line to the body with a short curve.
Bring down two more parallel lines from the bottom, and join these at the end with a short line.
Add another hoof to the end of this…
And then draw another angled leg on the right.
Connect the back leg by drawing a line coming from the top of this, and take this across to the right, and then back down to meet the main body.
Now, bring two curved lines across on the left, just above the leg, and add a “flame” shaped tail to the end of this.
Add spots and patterns to your giraffe…
And then two small oval shapes at the end of the nose for the nostrils.
Now, add a series of “bumps” to the top of the square…
And follow this with another row slightly lower down.
Use a ruler to draw a straight, horizontal line below this…
And then add two curves around the face of the giraffe, connected with a line in the center. Use wavy lines on either side to connect these to the edges of the square.
Now, use a yellow pen to add dots to the section at the bottom.
Follow this with green dots in between…
And then use a black pen for the hooves.
Now, use a brown pen for the patches on the body.
Grab a pink pen, and shade the inside of the ears of your giraffe.
Next, use an orange pen for the main body…
And grab a blue pen for the sky and the water.
Finally, use a green pen for the meadow that the giraffe is standing in.
And there we have it – an adorable giraffe enjoying a cool, refreshing drink of water. Why not take a little time to learn more about these creatures – they are truly fascinating!
