Step-By-Step Images and Instructions
1.

Grab a black fineliner pen, and draw two eyes at the top of your page, with two small almond shapes around two small black circles.
2.

Add two small curves above the eyes for brows, and then a “reverse L” shape for a nose.
3.

Now, add a horizontal “crescent moon” shape below this for a mouth, and fill in the bottom half of this with the black pen.
4.

Create the outline of the face by curving the line across the bottom, up the right side, and then angle it up towards the top left-hand corner of the page. Then, add a “bump” on the left, and connect this to the bottom curve to complete the face.
5.

Add a large curved shape to the top of the head, and then add a small “bump” to the top of this for a chic hat.
6.

Next, bring two short lines down from the bottom of the face. On the left, angle the line down towards the bottom left-hand side of the page. On the right, add a “bump”, and then continue the line down.
7.

At the end of the left line, add a few spikes for a hand and fingers, and then bring a line back up on the inside.
8.

Now, add two parallel, diagonal lines to the right-hand side, and then bring these across to the left for the second arm. Add a small “bump” to the top.
9.

Add several small, thin shapes below the top “bump” for fingers, and add curves to the top and bottom. Then, add a half circle to the bottom of the hand.
10.

From the curves at the top and bottom, complete the curve to create the handle of the dog’s leash.
11.

Bring a line down from the left arm, and connect the two sides with a curved line at the bottom.
12.

Now, add a curved line to the bottom of the head, and add a long curved line, ending in several small points to create a hair.
13.

On the right side, extend the line down towards the bottom of the page. Then, bring the line across to the left, and back up to the end just below the curve at the top.
14.

Then, bring a line down, and angle it across to the bottom left-hand corner of the page. Add an angled line, and then bring parallel lines back up to the line on the left.
15.

Now, add a stripe to the bottom right leg, and add a curved line for a shoe. Add another, small curve to the bottom.
16.

Repeat this on the left leg for the second shoe.
17.

Add a curve to the bottom of the neck, creating the top of the shirt…
18.

And then use the black fineliner and a ruler to draw several stripes across the width of the shirt.
19.

Let’s start drawing the dog! Add a large, curved shape to the right of the girl.
20.

Add a smaller curve inside the larger one, and then add a bumpy bottom to this.
21.

Now, bring two angles lines down from the top of this, and join these at the bottom with another bumpy line.
22.

Add two curved lines to divide this section into three, with a chin at the bottom…
23.

And then draw two cute black eyes above the nose.
24.

Next, add a wavy shape all around the eyes…
25.

And then draw two points at the top of the head, with smaller points inside these for sharp ears.
26.

Bring a curved, pointed shape down from the bottom, curving across towards the bottom left-hand corner.
27.

Next, bring a wavy horizontal line across from the left of the face, and curve this towards the bottom of the page.
28.

Add another curvy line coming down from the bottom of the face, and ending in a bump at the bottom. Then, bring the line across to the left.
29.

Add another leg to the front…
30.

And a third leg to the back…
31.

And a fourth just in front of this.
32.

Now, add a tiny bump to the top of the back for a cute tail…
33.

And connect the back of the dog to the hand of the girl with two diagonal, parallel lines.
34.

Next, use a light brown pen to shade the face and arms of your girl…
35.

And use a brown pen for the body of the dog and the hair of the girl.
36.

Then, use a red pen for the leash and handle…
37.

And fill in the shoes, trousers, stripes on the shirt, hat, and the face and ears of the dog with a black pen.
38.

Grab a gray pen, and shade the face of the dog…
39.

And then ring the eyes of the dog in black with your black pen to complete your drawing!
And there we have it – one of the most idyllic scenes you can enjoy, and all totally free!
