Frogs have a pretty great life – they can kick back and enjoy a swim, catch flies and insects, and bathe in the warm sunshine. Sometimes, however, they get grumpy, just like the rest of us – and we have everything you need to bring this scene to life! Let’s get started.

Step-By-Step Images and Instructions
1.

Start by using a black pen to draw a short, horizontal line in the center of your page. Add a bump to both ends.
2.

Now, bring a curved line across from the bottom left, and another curve towards the bottom.
3.

Connect the left end of this curve to the one on the left with a curved line, and then bring another line down towards the bottom.
4.

Add a short curved line to the bottom of this new main curve…
5.

And bring another line down from the right of the original bumps, taking it down towards the bottom right-hand corner of the page.
6.

Now, add a curved line below this, almost like a backward “C” shape.
7.

Bring a curved line down on the left, and take this across to the right, ending in a point. At this point, take the line up slightly, and then add another curved line to the line above.
8.

Add a point to the bottom of this line, taking it across to the left. Add a “fork” to the right of this, followed by a point, and then bring a curved line up – this will be the first leg.
9.

Add another leg to the left of the body…
10.

And then add a leg to the back, bringing a curve up from this.
11.

Now, add two circles beneath the bumps at the top, and add small curves on either side.
12.

Add two small nostrils below this…
13.

And then draw two horizontal lines inside each of the eyes.
14.

Add a small black circle below each top line for details of the eyes.
15.

Grab a black fineliner pen and add a series of small and larger circles all across the back.
16.

Switch back to the original pen, and draw two loops to the top right of the frog. Add a curved line below this to draw a little butterfly.
17.

Use a yellow pen for the center of the eyes…
18.

And then use a green pen for the back and head of the frog.
19.

Use a lighter green for the chest and stomach…
20.

And use a blue pen for the butterfly wings.
And there we have it – a poor grumpy frog, waiting to be cheered up.
