When the sun is up and the weather is warm, bears enjoy being out and about in the world as much as the rest of us. As the weather turns chilly, however, they do what many of us dream of – they take to their beds, and enter full hibernation mode. Want to take a peek at a hibernating bear? Then let’s get started!

Step-By-Step Images and Instructions
1.

Start with a ruler and a black pen, and add a large rectangle to the center of your page.
2.

Switch to a fineliner, and add a pointed shape to the bottom left corner, with an oval shape at the end.
3.

Then, add a “C” shape below this, with the bottom line longer than the top line.
4.

Add another curved shape all around the original point…
5.

Now, add two curved points, one on either side of the central point, and then draw three small triangles to the top of this.
6.

Add two curved horseshoe shapes to the top of this, creating the ears of your bear. Add another shape inside each of the main ones.
7.

Now, add a curved line coming from the bottom of the right ear, and take this towards the right, and down towards the bottom right-hand corner of the rectangle.
8.

Add a curved line just below this, and take this down, bump it out at the bottom, and then across to the right and up at the end.
9.

Add a curved line to the right of this, and take this up to meet the line above. Add a small, curved tail to the back.
10.

Draw three sharp claws at the front of both feet…
11.

And then add another curved paw to the front, and add sharp claws to the end of this.
12.

Next, use a thicker black pen to draw a curved line all around the bear.
13.

Add another curved shape around this, adding a small dip in the top. Then, draw a curved line on either side.
14.

Use a black fineliner to draw three wavy lines emerging from the dip at the top, with the ones on the sides slightly shorter than that in the center.
15.

Add a large crescent moon to the top left of the rectangle…
16.

And follow this with stars all around the top half of the drawing.
17.

Use a brown pen to shade the inside sections of the ears…
18.

And then use a light orange pen for the nose of your bear.
19.

Use another orange pen for the rest of the body of your bear.
20.

Then, use a blue pen for the bottom section of the drawing, and the inner curved space.
21.

Use a lighter blue pen for the puter section of this curved space, and the shapes at the top.
22.

Now, use a yellow pen for the moon and stars at the top.
23.

Grab an indigo pen, and shade the night sky at the top of the page.
Now, everyone stay very quiet – this is a peaceful, snoozing hibernating bear. Let’s leave him in peace!
