Step-By-Step Images and Instructions
1.

Begin by using a black fineliner pen to draw a small triangle in the center of your page, with the point facing downwards.
2.

Bring a straight line down from this bottom point, and add a semicircle shape to the end.
3.

Then, add two circles, one on either side of the triangle, to create the nose, mouth, and eyes of your cat.
4.

Within the circles, add curved lines to the inside to create the details of the eyes…
5.

And then repeat this with smaller curves inside those you just drew.
6.

Fill in the middle section of the eyes with the fineliner to create large, cute pupils.
7.

Add a semicircle to the space just above the eyes, in the middle of the circles.
8.

Then, add a wavy shape to the left of the face – this should be almost like a long, thin “figure-8” shape, but make sure that the top section is slightly shorter than the bottom.
9.

Add a bumpy line just below the top of this “figure-8” shape…
10.

And then add two triangles, one on either end of the top curved line, to create the ears and paw of your kitty.
11.

Add two smaller triangles inside the first ones to add detail to your cat’s ears.
12.

Then, continue the outer lines down on either side, curving them across to meet in the middle at the bottom with a small bump, to complete the outline of the cat’s face.
13.

Just below the bump of the chin, add a small circle.
14.

Then, connect this to the bottom of the chin with a curved line on either side.
15.

Bring a curved line down from the bottom right of the face…
16.

And then bring across two parallel lines, angled at 45 degrees towards the bottom left-hand corner of the page. At the end, join these with three bumps to create another paw for your cat.
17.

Just beneath this, add another curved line, and a small “bump” at the bottom. Repeat this on the other side, this time leaving the paw out.
18.

Connect the lines at the bottom with a straight line…
19.

And then add a large oval shape, ending at the top and bottom of the right paw.
20.

Add a series of small, curved marks heading up from the bottom line.
21.

Add small characters to the circle at the top – this is the tag of your cat’s collar.
22.

Next, add a smaller circle inside the large one at the bottom of the drawing, creating a ring.
23.

Add more characters to the inside of the ring, and make sure that these are bold, black, and clear.
24.

Now, add a small circle to the right paw, and small semicircles on the left-hand side of the body left paw, and across the left ear.
25.

Grab a pink pen, and use this to fill in the center of the ears.
26.

Switch to a light blue pen, and use this to fill in the bottom section of the eyes…
27.

Before using a brown pen for the small circles, to create patches on your cat. Grab a red pen for the band of the collar.
28.

Use a yellow pen for the tag of the collar and the larger circle below…
29.

And then use a black pen to add a thick, bold outline to the entire shape.
And there we have it – your very own Japanese cat! Why not take some time to do a little research on these curious creatures, or just keep it close in the hope of enjoying some luck!
