Step-By-Step Images and Instructions
1.

Start with a black fineliner pen, and draw a small “mushroom” shape in the top right of your page.
2.

Now, add a point below this and bring down two wavy lines on either side.
3.

Bring two more wavy lines down from the bottom of the mushroom shape, and connect them to the line below. Add a small jagged line to the bottom of this.
4.

Now, add two curved lines, one on either side – the left line should be slightly jagged.
5.

Add two almond shapes to the top of these lines for eyes…
6.

And then draw thick black “rings” inside these almond shapes.
7.

Carefully outline each eye with the black pen…
8.

And then bring a curved line up inside each eye. Add a jagged line to the top of each of these, and connect the two sides with another jagged line at the top.
9.

Bring across two more jagged lines, this time heading out to the sides, and curve these down towards the bottom of your page.
10.

Return to the lines beside the nose, and connect these two sides with another curved, jagged line ending in a point at the bottom.
11.

Next, create shaggy ears for your dog by continuing the jagged lines on either side and bringing these down to end in points. Then, bring the line back up to the bottom of the face.
12.

Now, add a beardy chest to your pooch with a large, oval shape below the bottom of the face – once again, the lines should be jagged to create that shaggy fur effect.
13.

Next, bring a line down beside the left ear, angled down towards the bottom left corner of the page. Bring this across to the left, and then add a large “backward C” shape, angled at around 45 degrees.
14.

Bring the bottom of this up towards the top of the page, and then add a “hook” connecting the shape.
15.

Add a small “flame” shape to the right of this, above the horizontal line…
16.

And then bring a jagged line straight down from the end of the “hook”.
17.

Now, return to the right of the page. Bring a jagged curved line down from the bottom of the chest, and curve this across to the left, and then down and to the right in a “C” shape. Add a straight line to the right, and then bring this up, in, and up to meet the jagged line above.
18.

Add a small line across the front, and then add a jagged “L” shape just behind this.
19.

Return to the line at the back, and add a similar shape to the end of this – do you see the legs and feet beginning to emerge?
20.

Connect the front and back of the body together with a jagged line in the center…
21.

And then add another line across the pointed section at the back – this is your dog’s tail.
22.

Now, add another jagged “hook” to the right of this tail…
23.

And a ruff of fur in front of the chest.
24.

Next, grab an orange pen, and fill in the space around the nose…
25.

Before using a gray pen for the rest of the nose area, and the main body of the fur.
26.

Use a black pen for the ears, and the section beside the tail…
27.

And then use a white or silver fineliner pen to add detailing to the ears and face.
And there we have it – a super cute Japanese Chin dog, just waiting for some fuss, walks, and plenty of attention – can you oblige?
