Step-By-Step Images and Instructions
1.

Begin by using a black pen to draw a square “C” shape in the right side of your page, bringing the top and bottom lines in slightly.
2.

Add a line just above the bottom of the “C”, and then another, larger “bump” above this, connecting this to the top line. Add a short mark to the bottom of the top line, and fill this in with the black pen.
3.

Now, add a small triangle behind this for an eye…
4.

And add a smattering of dots just below the nose.
5.

Next, add two slightly curved, parallel lines emerging from the top left corner, heading towards the left of the page.
6.

Join these in a point at the end, and then add another point below this. From the second point, bring two curved, parallel lines down towards the bottom left-hand corner of the page, joining them at the end.
7.

Repeat this shape twice more below the first, decreasing the length of the wavy sections slightly as you go.
8.

Add a small diamond shape close to the bottom, and thicken the left line of this.
9.

Add another two long, wavy sections…
10.

And then repeat this until you are almost at the bottom of the face.
11.

Continue the mane to the bottom of the face, and then bring a curved line across to the right.
12.

At the end of this, add three “bumps” for a paw, and then bring the bottom of the leg across to the left.
13.

Add a curved line to the left of this…
14.

And then add a second leg and paw just below the first one.
15.

Now, bring a line across from the left of the mane, and curve this down at the end.
16.

Bring the line down towards the bottom left of the page, take it to a point, and then bring is back up to form the back leg. Continue the line up towards the top right-hand corner of the page, and then add a “hook” to the end.
17.

Add a second back leg just behind the first…
18.

And then add short marks to create toes.
19.

Now, bring two parallel lines across to the left for the tail.
20.

Add that distinctive “tuft” to the end of the tail…
21.

And then add a curved line across the front of the face.
22.

Shade this section with a yellow pen…
23.

And then fill in the body with a bright orange pen.
24.

Finally, use a brown pen for the mane and tail.
And voila – enjoy that wonderful sight of a lion in full flight – this is truly a treat!
