Step-By-Step Images and Instructions
1.

Start with a pencil and a drawing compass, and draw a small circle in the center of your page.
2.

Complete the circle so that you have a small circle, sitting right in the center of your page.
3.

Now, place your compass and pencil in the top right-hand corner of this small circle.
4.

Add another, smaller circle to the right of the first.
5.

Next, use your pencil to add two longer curved lines, with two shorter curved lines above. Add flicks to the top of the bottom curves.
6.

Now, draw a small “c” shaped nose beneath these curved eyes, and a long, thin curved shape below this for the mouth.
7.

Add a curve to the right and left of this small circle…
8.

And then add a curve to the top of this, with an angled line heading down to the right.
9.

Add another curve just above the top of the circle.
10.

Now, bring a curved “flame” shape down on the bottom right, and add another shape to the left of this.
11.

Now, add a curve from the bottom left shape, and take this across and down to a curved “point”, before taking the line across and up slightly. This will be a sleeve for your child’s t-shirt.
12.

Bring two curved, parallel lines across to the left, from the bottom of the sleeve.
13.

Now, add four long fingers and a thumb, creating a hand at the end of the arm.
14.

Add another set of fingers and a thumb to the left of the larger circle, roughly in line with those on the right.
15.

Next, bring two curved, parallel lines down from the bottom of the arms, and join these at the bottom with a slightly wavy line.
16.

Add two sets of parallel lines to the bottom of this for legs…
17.

And close these at the ends with a curve. Add another curved line just above the bottom.
18.

Now, add a large, curved foot to the bottom of each leg…
19.

And add two half-circle shapes to each, with a small circle at the end of the top shape on each foot.
20.

Now, add a slightly wavy shape to the right side of the larger circle.
21.

Use an eraser to remove the lines on the left of the kid’s face.
22.

Add more shapes to the top of the circle – these will be the landmasses and continents of Earth.
23.

Continue to add land to the left of the Earth…
24.

And continue this towards the bottom – you should start being able to pick out the most obvious shapes and continents now.
25.

Grab a black pen, and use this to go over all of the outlines you have created so far.
26.

Draw some lines on the bottom of the dress.
27.

Use an eraser to remove any remaining pencil marks…
28.

And then go over any areas that you need to with the black pen.
29.

Now, use an orange pen to shade the girl’s legs, arms, and face.
30.

Use a brown pen to color her hair…
31.

And then a pink pen for her dress and shoes.
32.

Now, use a green pen to color the continents of the Earth.
33.

Finally, grab a blue pen, and use this to shade the oceans.
Playing our part to protect the Earth is something that we can all do – and every little step helps. Why not do a little research to see what small changes you can make, and do your part in protecting this wonderful planet that we call home?
