As the second-largest penguin on Earth, the King penguin has plenty to offer, and this is a penguin that has some real power. In just a few short steps, we will learn how to bring our own King penguin to life through the power of art – let’s get started!
Step-By-Step Images and Instructions
Start with a black pen, and draw a curved shape in the center of your page, with a “bump” at the top.
At the left end of the line, add a “point” to the end of the line, and take it across to the right, taking the line down towards the bottom of the page.
Add a “bump” to the bottom of this, and then continue the line down towards the bottom of the page.
At the end of this, take the line across to the left, add three bumps, and then bring the line to the right, and up to form the foot.
Add a curved, pointed tail to the back, and then use a curved line to connect this to the head.
Add an oval shape to the front of the face for an eye…
And then add another curve just inside this.
Then, add a third curved line, and add two smaller circles to the left of this. Shade the space around these small circles.
Add a curved line across the center of the beak, and then add a “loop” to the end of this.
Add another curved shape just below the eye…
Now, add two curved, crooked lines to the center of the body, joined in a point at the end, to create a wing. Connect the left side of this to the pattern above with a curved line connected to one that slants to the left.
Add a curved line to the bottom of the wing, and add a “loop” to the end of this, before taking the line down and across to the left.
Add a diagonal line to the top of the body, across the front of the chest.
Now, use a black pen to add a line to the right side of the wing.
Use a yellow pen for the top of the chest, and use the same shade for the section under the beak.
Now, use an orange pen for the shape just above the chest.
Use a black pen to add color to the head, the face and the body, leaving thin stipes across the back, and in the center of the wing.
Use a gray pen for the sections you just left white…
And then use a gray pen for the front of the body, and a shadow below the feet.
And voila – your very own King penguin, standing strong, tall and majestic – there is no denying that he is ready for any adventure!
