Step-By-Step Images and Instructions
1.

Start with a black pen, and draw a small oval shape in the center of your page, close to the top.
2.

Add a long, slightly angled point inside this…
3.

And shade the area around the outside with a black pen.
4.

Bring a line down from the bottom, and then add a “bumpy” line below. Add a “u” shape to the bottom of this, and then a curve in this bottom section.
5.

Shade the top of this section to create the nose and mouth.
6.

Use a black fineliner pen to draw a circle around the mouth and halfway up the nose.
7.

Use a slightly thicker pen to add two circles, one on either side of the nose…
8.

And then use the fineliner pen to add two smaller circles inside each of the eyes.
9.

Shade the space around the smaller circles.
10.

Add a “flick” to the outside of each eye…
11.

Use the thicker black pen to add a curve to the top of the eyes.
12.

Then, bring this out slightly on both sides, and take it down and across to form the outline of the face.
13.

Switch to the fineliner pen, and add two oval shapes to the cheeks.
14.

Add a half-circle shape to the sides of the head for ears…
15.

And then use the thicker black pen to add the outline of the ears, with three “tufts” of fur on each.
16.

Use the black fineliner pen to bring a long loop down from the bottom of the face…
17.

And then use the thicker pen to add a curved line coming from the bottom left of the face, across to the left, and ending in a “bump”.
18.

From here, bring the line across and down for three more “bumps”, and then back across to form a thumbs up.
19.

Now, bring a curved line down from the bottom right of the face. Take this across to the left, then add a “bump” to the bottom, and bring the inside line up before angling it towards the top left-hand corner.
20.

Bring a curved line down below the left arm…
21.

And then add three “bumps” for a foot. Take the line to the right, up and across, and then add a foot on the right side. Connect this to the bottom of the right arm.
22.

Use a pink pen to add color to the inside of the ears, and the spots on the cheeks.
23.

Use a dark gray pen to shade the main body of your koala.
And there we have it – this is a koala raring for action and adventure; but just where will he go first?
