Step-By-Step Images and Instructions
1.

Grab a pencil, and add a “teardrop” shape to the left of your page to create your lion’s mane.
2.

Add another, smaller shape inside this, with a slightly angled bottom. Then, draw a small square just above this section, and add two lines heading up in the center.
3.

Add a small curved line to the bottom left of the mane, and then bring a curved line across to the right, down to create a tail, and back in and up.
4.

From here, bring a curved line down to a point, then take it in, across for a foot, and up.
5.

Add another leg just in front of the first.
6.

Now, bring a curved line across to the left, and extend the line at the top of the mane to a point, before bringing this up and across to the right.
7.

Bring a line down from the bottom of this, and add a “hook”.
8.

Take the end of this up to form a front leg, and then add another leg to the back of this, before connecting this to the line of the tummy.
9.

Join the back legs up completely.
10.

Add two small, slightly jagged shapes to the mane, on either side of the face, for ears.
11.

Use an orange pen to add color to the back of the lion’s body, including the tail, and to the two inside legs.
12.

Use a black pen to shade the nose…
13.

And use the same color for the eyes and the mouth.
14.

Shade the face and ears with the same orange color.
15.

Now, use a brown pen for the mane around the face…
16.

Shade the mane and tip of the tail with a darker brown pen…
17.

And then the bottom of the face with a light brown pen.
And there we have it – a king of the jungle, looking our way – we wouldn’t want to make him angry!
