We all know that lions are the kings of the jungle – but seeing one in person is a rarity reserved for few of us. Fortunately, we have put together the ultimate guide to drawing your own lion – are you brave enough to get started?
Step-By-Step Images and Instructions
Use a black pen to add a heart shape in the left of your page, with the bottom slightly curved.
Add two small circles to the top of this for eyes…
And add a smaller mark inside each of these, with a curved line above each eye.
Add a small triangle shape below the eyes, and then a teardrop-shaped tongue below this.
Now, add a curved line to the top of the face on either side.
Add a horseshoe shape to the top of each curved line at the top, and add a curved line inside each.
Connect these with two curved lines…
And then create the mane with jagged lines, joining in a point at the bottom.
Bring a curved line across to the right, and then take this down, across and loop back up.
Add a curved line to the top of this, and then add a line to the left. Add another leg at the front.
Add a wavy tail to the back of the lion, with a tuft at the top.
Now, add a leg to the front, below the face, and a large oval between the front paws.
Add another layer to the side of this.
Now, use a brown pen to shade the bottom of the beard.
Add color to the top of the head, in the center of the mane…
Use a darker brown for the rest of the mane, the inside of the ears and the tuft of the tail.
Use an orange pen for the main coat, leaving the feet white…
And use a gray pen for the edges of the body.
Use a red pen to add red circles to the meat…
And then a brown pen to add color to the side of the meat.
Use a pink pen for the rest of the meat…
And then use a blue pen for the eyes.
Finally, use an orange pencil to add an oval shape around the bottom of the lion.
And there we have it – who said that lions have to be scary and ferocious? All this one is waiting for is a name, and his next adventure!
