Small and colorful, molly fish are all too often underrated compared to their more glamorous relatives. Now is your chance to change this by drawing your very own molly fish – let’s get started!
Step-By-Step Images and Instructions
Start with a black pen, and draw two curved lines across your page for the body of the fish, meeting at the left with a “dent” for the mouth.
Add a tail to the back with two angled lines, and a wavy line at the end.
Add a circle to the left of the mouth, with two smaller circles inside this…
And link the two circles with another circle.
Add two “D” shapes to the right, and then add two horizontal, parallel lines to the right of this, connecting them at the end with a wavy line.
Add long, thin “fingers” inside this…
Before adding two fins to the bottom.
Add long, thin shapes inside these fins…
And then a wavy shape below the “D”.
Now, add long, thin shapes all across the tail.
Add a large, wide fin to the top of the body.
Fill this with long, thin spikes.
And add a series of “crescent moon” shapes to the top.
Fill these shapes with a brown pen, and add this color to the ring of the eye and the shape at the bottom.
Use a blue pen for the fin on the body, the “D” shapes, and for two marks in front of the eye.
Finally, use a black pen for the rest of the body.
And just like that, you have created your very own stunning molly fish – but why not learn a little more about them?
