Step-By-Step Images and Instructions
1.

Start with a thin black pen, and draw a square “n” shape in the center of your page. Add a small mark to the middle of this.
2.

Bring a curved line across to the right, and then a wavy line down towards the bottom left. From here, take the line across to the right, and up to end with a flick.
3.

Return to the line on the right, and add a “backwards C” shape to the end of this, before adding another line to connect it to the line above.
4.

Add a small “U” shape to the bottom of this line to create the mouth of your monkey…
5.

And then add a large, curved shape to the top of this.
6.

Add a “bump” to the top of this new shape, and then add three-pointed shapes to the left, bringing the bottom round to complete the shape.
7.

Connect the bottom point to the shape below with a curved line.
8.

Next, bring a curved line across from the bottom right, add a “backwards C” shape to the end, and add a curved line just inside this to form an ear.
9.

Draw a large “m” shape just above the nose and mouth section…
10.

Add another ear to the left, with a curve just below the top.
11.

Now, add two curved shapes inside the “m” for the outline of the eyes…
12.

And bring two curved, parallel lines down from the bottom. Join these with a jagged line at the end.
13.

Add three fingers, with one slightly longer than the others, to the end of this, and then add a thumb to the right.
14.

Bring a line across from the right of the right ear, and curve this across and down, then back to the left. Add another line beside this, and connect these at the end with another jagged line.
15.

Add another hand to the end of this, this time with some of the fingers curled…
16.

And then add two curved, parallel lines to the top, heading up towards the top right-hand corner of the page.
17.

Add another bent leg to the top right of this…
18.

And then another to the left. Close both legs with jagged lines as before.
19.

Add one foot to the left, pointing towards the left of the page…
20.

And then the other to the right, pointing towards the bottom.
21.

Bring two more curved lines up in the gap, and hook these over at the top to create a tail.
22.

Now, add a pointed arrow shape to the right of this tail.
23.

Add a line to the right, then take this down and across to the left to meet the tail. Add another line on the top, once again pointing left towards the tail.
24.

Draw two leaves at the top of this…
25.

And then bring the looped end of the tail across on the left of the branch.
26.

Add a sharp “fork” to the end of the branch…
27.

And then add two more leaves to each point.
28.

Now, add a curved line inside each of the eyes.
29.

Draw a small circle at the top of each…
30.

And then shade the bottom section with the black pen.
31.

Use a blue pen for the section surrounding this…
32.

And then a red pen to shade the mouth.
33.

Now, use a green pen for the leaves on the trees.
34.

Shade the branch of the tree with a purple pen…
35.

And then use a brown pen for the main body of your monkey.
36.

Finally, grab a lighter brown pencil, and shade the hands and feet.
And there we have it – your very own adorable cheeky monkey, just enjoying hanging out – all he is waiting for is a name!
