Step-By-Step Images and Instructions
1.

Start with a pencil, and create the beak of your parrot with a curved line heading down to a point, and then two curved lines above this.
2.

Bring a curved line across from the top of the beak, across to the left, and then add another curved line to the right of the bottom of the beak, and add curved lines heading down and across for the front of the body.
3.

Add another line to the end of the line at the top, heading towards the bottom right-hand corner of the page.
4.

Bring a curved shape across from the back of the beak, and then take a curved line up from the top of this, and across to the left.
5.

Add a small circle to the end of this, and add a small dot inside this for the eye.
6.

Add small marks to the side of the eye section…
7.

And then add a curved line to the bottom of this, and another, diagonal curved line below this, parallel with the front of the chest.
8.

Add two claws to the bottom of this section…
9.

And then bring across diagonal, parallel lines, joined with a slant at the right, for the perch. Extend this on the left with a curved shape.
10.

Now, bring the end of the back line up to meet the bottom of the perch for the tail, and then add a long set of tailfeathers below this, with another shape just inside.
11.

Now, add curved tailfeathers to the back of these main tailfeathers.
12.

Grab a black pen, and shade the bottom of the perch, the back tailfeathers, and the section behind the beak.
13.

Use a red pen for the main body of the parrot, leaving the wing white.
14.

Now, use a yellow pen to add small oval shapes to the bottom of the red section.
15.

Use a green pen to add color to the bottom of these.
16.

Use a blue pen for the wing, the inside of the tail feather, and the front of the chest.
17.

Shade the outside of the bottom feathers with a brown pen.
18.

Use a yellow-orange pen for the perch.
19.

Use the blue pen for the beak.
20.

Finally, use a gray pencil for the space beneath the eye and make the color of the beak a little deeper with the pencil.
And voila – your own bright, colorful, and friendly parrot – all that he needs now is a name!
