Step-By-Step Images and Instructions
1.

Use a pencil and a ruler to draw the outline of your dog’s face in the center of your page, with two ears and a pointed chin.
2.

Add a half circle to the center of your page, and then add a “U” shape below this, with two curves on either side. Add a small circle shape to the top of this half circle for the nose.
3.

Add two small circles to the top of this nose.
4.

Add two smaller shapes to the inside of the ears…
5.

And then a smaller circle inside each of the circles for the eyes.
6.

Bring a line across to the right, with a small “dip” just behind the head, and angle this down towards the end.
7.

Add the word “POLICE” in large letters below this line…
8.

And then bring a curved line down from the bottom of the face, take this to a point, and then add a curved line up. Next, bring a line down from the left end of the top line, and curve this inwards.
9.

Bring this line across, adding two “steps” as you go, and bring the right end of the line down and in.
10.

Extend the line down slightly, and then take it across, down and add a “C” shape to the bottom.
11.

Bring down a leg and paw at the front, and add a second paw behind the first.
12.

Now, bring the line at the back up to form the back leg, and add a cute tail to the top.
13.

Add a second back leg behind the first…
14.

And then enclose the “POLICE” logo in a rectangle, and bring two rectangles down from the bottom of this for straps. Add square buckles, and then continue the rectangles down.
15.

Add the harness to the chest with two small squares, connected by horizontal lines.
16.

Use an eraser to correct the hind legs.
17.

Grab a black fineliner pen and go over the outlines of the eyes, as well as the “POLICE” logo on the back.
18.

Use a dark brown pen to shade the nose and inner ears…
19.

And a light brown pen for the rest of the dog’s body.
20.

Now, shade the inner section of the muzzle with a black pen.
21.

Use a pink pen to add color to the tongue…
22.

And a yellow pen for the badge on the harness.
23.

Use an orange pen to complete the badge.
24.

Use an eraser to erase the pencil marks on the “POLICE” label.
25.

Color the background to the logo, and the harness straps on the belly with a black pen.
26.

Add a line to the top of each side of the logo, and then bring curved lines up to meet a larger rectangle in the center. Fill this in with a black pen for the top of the harness.
27.

Shade the collar with a black pen…
28.

And use a dark gray pen for the rest of the harness.
29.

Now, use a brown pen to add color to the dog’s eyes.
30.

Finally, use a black pen and a ruler to add a line right beneath his paws.
And there we have it – a wonderful police dog, just waiting for a job to do – but first he needs a name!
