There are few things more relaxing than watching a soothing pond, with colorful fish playing beneath the waves – sounds like bliss, right? Well, let’s bring this idyllic scene to life in just a few short, simple steps.
Step-By-Step Images and Instructions
Start with a black pen, and draw a series of tall, thin shapes at the bottom of your page, creating points at the top for reeds.
Repeat this with another set of reeds on the right…
And then bring up two curved, parallel lines from the top of the left group of reeds. Take this across to the right, and join the sections in a point.
Add a series of long half-circle shapes to the right of the tall section.
Bring a curved line down from the end of this…
And add an almond shape to the left – make the right end slightly flat.
Now add a small eye to the right of the body, and add a wavy line emerging from the top.
Bring a wavy line down beneath the eye and across to the left, and then add a curve below this.
Repeat this to create a smaller fish to the left of this first one…
And add a wavy fin to the back of the bodies.
Add another large fish below the first one…
And then add another set of three fish on the right.
Now, add a tall “n” shape to the bottom of the curved line, and fill this with smaller shapes.
Bring a thin strip up from the top of this…
And add a small dragonfly to the top.
Now, bring a wide puddle all around the bottom of the reeds…
And shade the reed that the dragonfly has landed on with a black pencil.
Use an orange pen to shade the fishing rod, and the top section of each of the fish.
Grab a brown pencil, and shade the bottom of each fish…
Fill in the remaining fin of the fish on the bottom left corner with the orange pen.
And add the same color to the bottom of the dragonfly’s perch.
Now, use a green pencil for the reeds…
Now, use a bright blue pen to shade the puddle and the wings of the dragonfly.
And there we have it – your very own tranquil pond scene, complete with cute fish. What could be better?
