Step-By-Step Images and Instructions
1.

Use a black pen to draw a forked shape, angled at around 45 degrees, in the center of your page.
2.

Add a wavy line to the top of this, heading towards the top left-hand corner of the page.
3.

Take this to a point at the top, and then bring a curved line down and across to meet the original shape.
4.

Add a curved line just below the bottom of this.
5.

Now, add a half-circle shape above this…
6.

Add a small triangle inside the half-circle for the eye…
7.

And add a curved line above this, and a curved “T” shape to the right.
8.

Add two dots to the bottom of the face…
9.

And bring a curved line across from the back of the head, and down towards the bottom right-hand corner of the page.
10.

Add another line beside this from the top of the head.
11.

Add a wide curve to the bottom of the neck…
12.

And then another large shape below this, creating coils for the snake.
13.

Add a third coil to the bottom…
14.

And then add a series of small loops, each connected to the one above, on the right of the snake.
15.

Connect this section – the rattle – to the top coil…
16.

And add a wavy pattern just behind the top of the head.
17.

Now, add a loud shape behind this with a wavy line at the bottom…
18.

Now, add a series of patterns down the length of the neck…
19.

And follow this with patterns on the top set of coils.
20.

Add another set of patterns to the coil below…
21.

Add another set of patterns to the bottom coil…
22.

And then add patterns up the tail.
23.

Now, add three wavy lines to the right of the rattle on the tail…
24.

And use the black pen for the space around the patterns.
25.

Finally, shade the alternate sections of the pattern with a green pen.
And voila – an adorable rattlesnake who most certainly isn’t scary – in fact, he is waiting for a name!
