Step-By-Step Images and Instructions
1.

Grab a pencil and a ruler, and draw a straight line across the bottom of your page.
2.

Now, use a black fineliner to bring a curved line up on the left, and add a curved shape to the top of this.
3.

Add a curved line to the top “corner” of the line, and then add a backward “L” shape to the right side.
4.

Add a “loop” to the left side of this…
5.

And then bring a curved line down from the bottom of this shape, and take it across to the left.
6.

Add a curved, horizontal line to the left of the original line, and then take this down and across to the right.
7.

Add another “loop” to the end of this…
8.

And then add a curved shepherd’s crook to the left of this loop – or hand.
9.

Add another line inside the crook, and join these to create the whole shape.
10.

Add a curved, pointed shape inside the top section – this is the head of your shepherd.
11.

Now, add a small “kidney” shape below this.
12.

Add two small dots into the top section, and then add curved brows to the top of each.
13.

Now add another, larger “kidney” shape to the bottom right of the shepherd.
14.

Add a small, curved shape to the right of this…
15.

Next, use a bumpy line to create the outline of a fluffy sheep.
16.

Add four small rectangles to the bottom for the legs…
17.

And then add a small line to the end of each leg for a hoof.
18.

Add a small arrow shape to the bottom of the sheep’s face, and then add a curve above this for the nose. Add a curved line to the top of the face for the eye.
19.

Add another sheep face to the right of the first animal…
20.

And then use a bumpy line to create the outline of the coat.
21.

Add four legs to the bottom of this second sheep…
22.

And then add lines to the bottom for hooves.
23.

Now, add a teardrop shape to the front of this sheep…
24.

And then add the details of the face, just as you did before.
25.

Add the face and body of a third sheep to the back.
26.

Add four legs, with the front two kicking forward…
27.

And then add hooves to the bottom.
28.

Add a small teardrop shape, and then the details on the face.
29.

Go over the horizontal line with the black fineliner pen. You will now have the outline of the shepherd and his three sheep.
30.

Use an eraser to remove the pencil marks at the bottom.
31.

This is the end result after erasing the pencil marks.
32.

Now use a pink pen for the faces, the legs of the sheep, and the hands of the shepherd.
33.

Grab a red pen, and shade the robe of the shepherd…
34.

And then use a dark brown pen for the crook.
35.

Now, use the dark brown pen for the head and beard…
36.

Use the black fineliner pen to add details to the sheep.
And there we have it – a shepherd, dutifully watching over his flock calmly. Looks like a pretty peaceful scene to us!
