When we think of the countryside, there are a few things that come to mind; rolling hills, lush green meadows, and, of course, the humble cow. These curious creatures are the staple of any farm, and so should be included in any set of drawing skills!

Step-By-Step Images and Instructions
1.

Start with a black marker, and draw a slightly circular shape to the left of the center of your page – this should have a slightly “bulging” top and a smaller bottom.
2.

Add two small sideways triangles on either side of the shape, and another two on the top, to give your cow some horns.
3.

Add two small dots for eyes…
4.

And a small “W” shape just above this, for the forelock.
5.

Now, make two small marks towards the bottom of the face for nostrils.
6.

And add two smaller triangles inside the ears.
7.

Now, bring a line across to the right hand side of the page, and curve it down towards the bottom.
8.

At the end of this line, bring a line across in an “n” shape, and back up in a straight line. Then, add a small square to the bottom for a hoof.
9.

Now, bring another set of lines down to the left, ending in a tuft as you draw the tail.
10.

Return to the back leg, and bring the line across to the left, adding another leg to the front of the cow.
11.

Next, add another leg to the back, just in front of the first one you drew…
12.

Before adding another leg to the front.
13.

Take a gray pen, and add two shapes to the face, before filling these in with the gray.
14.

Now, add another set of patches all across the back and body of the cow…
15.

And use the gray pen to fill these in with color.
16.

Use a pink pen to add color to the horns, nose and ears of your cow to complete the look.
And voila! You are the proud owner of your very own simple cow drawing – now add a few more farmyard friends to keep him company.
