Step-By-Step Images and Instructions
1.

Start by taking a pencil and a ruler, and drawing a straight, vertical line in the center of your page.
2.

Add a short, horizontal line around an inch from the top of this line.
3.

Now, use the pencil to connect the ends of the horizontal line to the top of the vertical line with curves. This will be the hat of your gnome!
4.

Just below the bottom of the hat, add an oval shape in the center for a nose, and then two curved lines, one on either side, for eyes.
5.

Above the curved eyes, add two small circle shapes.
6.

Next, bring two diagonal lines down from the corners of the nose.
7.

At the end of these lines, bring the lines across and back up to form a mustache…
8.

And then use the pencil to enclose the facial features in a “square” face shape.
9.

Now, bring two curved lines up from the center to the bottom of the hat to form a beard.
10.

Next, take the ruler, and make another horizontal line around half an inch below the bottom of the beard.
11.

Join the ends of this line to the bottom of the beard with two curves to create the outline of the body.
12.

Now, use the ruler to add two horizontal lines just above the bottom one for the belt, and then add two short, vertical marks on either side of the central line for the buckle.
13.

Add a shorter horizontal line to the bottom of the main central line…
14.

And connect this to the bottom of the body with two angled lines.
15.

Now, add two semicircle shapes to the bottom…
16.

And bring two curves down on the outside of the body, connecting these to the bottom of the belt with short horizontal lines.
17.

Add two curved, triangle shapes to the bottom of the arms…
18.

And then use a black fineliner pen to add a long, thin shape to the top left of the hat, with a smaller circle below this.
19.

Grab a black pen, and use this to go over the outlines of the gnome.
20.

Draw the ears of your gnome.
21.

And then remove the vertical line using an eraser.
22.

Take a light brown pen, and very lightly shade the face and hands of your gnome.
23.

Use the pink pen to add a darker shade to the nose…
24.

And then use a yellow pen to fill in the tunic and the belt buckle.
25.

Grab a red pen, and use this to add color to the trousers.
26.

Then, use a green pen for the hat of your gnome!
27.

Add color to the beard and mustache with a brown pen…
28.

And then complete your gnome by using a black pen for the shoes and belt!
There we have it – a colorful, adorable gnome, just waiting for you to dream up an adventure for him to enjoy – can you oblige?
